Description

Homemade calzones with a golden crust and a warm, cheesy filling, baked until crisp outside and soft inside, perfect for a cozy meal at home.


Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour, 3 cups
  • Warm water, 1 cup
  • Active dry yeast, 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • Salt, 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Mozzarella cheese, 2 cups shredded
  • Ricotta cheese, 1 cup
  • Marinara sauce, 1/2 cup
  • Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast, then add flour, salt, and olive oil to form a dough.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, cover, and let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Divide the dough into portions and roll each into a circle.
  5. Place mozzarella, ricotta, marinara sauce, and seasoning on one half of each circle.
  6. Fold the dough over the filling, seal the edges well, and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overfill to prevent leaking.
  • Seal edges firmly with a fork.
  • Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
