Description

These rich, fudgy brownies are the perfect chocolate treat—easy to make, irresistibly gooey in the center, and topped with a classic crackly crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips if using. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  6. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • For gooier brownies, bake closer to 25 minutes.
  • Use parchment paper for easy removal and clean edges.
  • Enhance flavor with a pinch of sea salt on top before baking.
