- 1 packet unflavored gelatin powder
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup cold alcohol (vodka, rum, or flavored liqueur), chilled before use
- 2 tablespoons sugar, optional
- Light coating cooking spray for molds
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Lightly grease silicone molds with a thin layer of cooking spray and set them on a flat tray for stability.
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk the flavored gelatin, unflavored gelatin, and boiling water until completely dissolved and smooth.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Allow the gelatin mixture to cool slightly, about 5 minutes, so it is warm but not hot.
- Assemble the Dish: Stir in the chilled alcohol and optional sugar until fully combined and evenly mixed.
- Cook to Perfection: Carefully pour the mixture into prepared molds, filling each cavity evenly, then transfer to the refrigerator.
- Finishing Touches: Chill the molds for at least 2 hours, or until the candies are firm and set.
- Serve and Enjoy: Pop the candies out of the molds, arrange on a chilled platter, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Chill the alcohol before adding to the gelatin to help it set properly.
- Use silicone molds for easy release and a glossy finish.
- Do not add alcohol to boiling liquid to preserve its flavor.
