- 1 cup black sesame seeds, toasted
- 1 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Toast the black sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, combine honey, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a simmer.
- Add the toasted sesame seeds, shredded coconut, vanilla extract, and salt to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.
- Continue to cook for another 3-5 minutes, allowing the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Transfer the mixture to a lined baking dish or silicone mold, pressing it firmly to spread evenly.
- Let the mixture cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours to firm up.
- Once firm, cut into small squares or bars and serve. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- You can add a handful of chopped nuts like almonds or cashews for extra crunch and flavor.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar, depending on your preference.
