Description

Ultra crispy air fryer chickpeas tossed in a bold chili spice blend. Crunchy on the outside with a nutty center, this easy high protein snack is perfect for salads, soups, or munching straight from the bowl.


Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 ounces each) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes.
  2. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then pat them completely dry with a clean kitchen towel. Remove any loose skins.
  3. In a mixing bowl, toss the dried chickpeas with olive oil until evenly coated.
  4. Add chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne if using. Toss until well coated.
  5. Spread the seasoned chickpeas in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  6. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the air fryer and let cool for 5 minutes to crisp further before serving.

  • Dry the chickpeas thoroughly for maximum crunch.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
  • Allow chickpeas to cool completely before storing.
  • If they lose crispness, air fry again for 3 to 4 minutes.
